Affirmative

The label affirmative is applied to a statement which contains no negative item.

  • I agree. (affirmative)
  • I don’t agree. (negative)

Other examples are:

  • Sugar tastes sweet.
  • Man is mortal.
  • Alice is an engineer.
  • Alice sipped her coffee.
