Some adjectives are absolute and cannot be compared.

Examples are:

Entirely
Unique
Round
Square
Perfect
Opposite
Empty
Dead

Read the example sentences given below.

  • She wore a perfect diamond ring on her finger. (NOT She wore a very perfect diamond ring…)
  • I entirely agree with you. (NOT I very entirely agree with you.)
  • He has a unique name. (NOT He has a very unique name.)
