Pronouns

A pronoun is a word used instead of a noun.

  • Alice is a good girl. Everybody likes her. (Here the pronoun her is used instead of the noun Alice.)
  • Jane sings well. She has a golden voice. (Here the pronoun she refers back to the noun Jane.)

There are different kinds of pronouns.

Personal pronoun
Reflexive pronoun
Emphatic pronoun
Demonstrative pronoun
Indefinite pronoun
Interrogative pronoun
Distributive pronoun
Reciprocal pronoun
Relative pronoun
